EbolAware is an app containing references to scientific journals and information from various news sources as well as the World Health Organisation. The aim of this app is to raise awareness of: what the disease is, how it functions, and what you can do to keep safe and limit its spread.
The reason for it being ‘99p’ is to cover expenses so it’s continuously updated during the course of this epidemic. All information is reviewed within the app and it’s updated weekly. If enough people use EbolAware there are also plans to donate profits to the Ebola Crisis Appeal.
There is an integrated map with markers for where the disease is increasing, isolated or eradicated with further information about each area affected.
Topics within the app include:
• Facts about Ebola
• Myths about Ebola
• How To Protect Yourself
• Clinical Trials Regarding Developing A Vaccine
• New Cases
• Peoples’ Accounts of Ebola
• Updates from All Organisations Tackling Ebola
Users can use a discussion wall to talk about the disease andor connect through facebook and twitter.
